L'Atelier

Incidentally, we are located on Via dei Coronari*, a significant street during the Grand Tour. The "coronari" were vendors of rosaries ("corone" in Roman dialect), sacred miniatures, and other religious objects, strategically positioned along this street, once the Ancient Path of Rome, which led to St. Peter's Basilica. In Rome, on Via dei Coronari, just 100 meters from Piazza Navona, lies our atelier, where we handcraft the GrandTour collection.

The storefront, framed by a large jasmine plant...

overlooks a beautiful 16th-century fountain at the center of Piazza San Simeone. The building that houses our atelier dates back to the 1500s, known as Palazzo Salimei, purchased in 1585 by Pope Sixtus V.

A white wooden floor opens the entrance to the gallery, surrounded by antique furniture and paintings from various eras, creating a blend of past and present. A large, intricately carved and gilded wooden mirror, crafted in Rome in the 1600s, reflects the display cases that showcase our collection to the public. The space is not very large but welcoming, allowing our clients to admire ancient works while waiting for their GrandTour piece to be crafted.

THE JOURNEY HAS JUST BEGUN

During this brief pause, we get to know one another and speak of the beauty that Rome has gifted us over the years, stirring our emotions as if it were always the first time. Over time, we have thought to capture this moment, wearing the GrandTour as a memory of the journey, in a photograph. Just a few steps from us, small trattorias begin to set their tables, signaling to passersby that it’s almost time for lunch. We often enjoy breakfast or an aperitif with our clients, as the sunset colors illuminate the façades of the ancient buildings of the Eternal City.

Thanks to those of you who kindly visit us, we are pleased to share this great fortune.

Bon voyage.
