Three animals in a single ring. Hercules wears the Nemean lion's skin, the bull follows him docile and powerful, and beneath them the Jaguar wraps the band with its wild, vibrant rhythm. It is a play of echoes that works on every level: myth meets nature, the engraving converses with the spotted ground, the hero's force answers that of the base. This layering of forces acquires a concrete physicality — the relief's volumes emerge with energy, the hero's legs and the animal's hooves crossing in an instant of dynamism captured with mastery. A bronze ring, full-bodied and dense, finds a natural affinity with this myth. The seventh labour tells of the discipline of force: the Cretan Bull, an untameable creature that Hercules faces and guides bare-handed — experience will guide his every move. The body surpassing its own limits with intelligence, power at the service of direction — much like the making of this ring. On the Jaguar pattern, that discipline meets the rhythm of the marks, the vigour of the coat expressed with effortless ease. The weight of the jewel is real, the oval bezel clean-cut, the handwork unmistakable to the touch. A ring that carries all the power of the story, with the character of the chosen colour. Through orange the energy is amplified — a warm, declared colour accord, fire recognising fire in complete harmony. Light Blue is the broadest, most restful note: it pauses midway between sky and sea, a rich tone that on the vibration of the spotted pattern brings breath and vastness to the scene. Sand merges subject and base into a single breath — you feel as though you are there, the movements raising the dust of the arena — precise, ordered, measured. Green brings sap and vitality — all colours that harmonise naturally, adding to this jewel a visual effect of striking balance.

Hercules and the bull

Face challenges head-on.

The mythological hero Hercules (or Herakles) was famed for his great strength and endurance and celebrated as an extraordinary mortal who, through success in seemingly impossible labors, won his immortal place amongst the Olympian gods. Being the greatest of Greek mythological heroes, he has been ascribed a multitude of adventures and heroic exploits over the centuries which were probably originally connected to lesser, more local figures. In mythology it was Zeus who lay with Alkmene and so fathered Hercules, explaining the origin of Hercules’ great strength. Hera, the wife of Zeus, was (understandably) always jealous of Hercules and made life difficult for him from an early age. The goddess delayed his birth so that his cousin Eurystheus would be born first and so become the ruler of Greece according to Zeus’ decree. Hera also sent two snakes to kill the newborn Hercules, but the baby easily strangled them. Hercules enjoyed divine favour from the Olympian gods and he was particularly favoured by Athena.
