A gold-plated bronze bezel encircles the profile of the goddess Roma — the city herself, in a jewel on your hand. She is still, composed, eternal. Like Minerva she leads, governs and presides through intellect. She knows how to protect. A relief full of dignity and extraordinary clarity — the features are clean, defined, assured. Soft and sharp at once — the purity of neoclassicism, carved with exceptional sensitivity. Every mark a precise touch. Every curve, every line of the face holds the history of the city. The cameo is beautiful.
The ring is feather-light. Yet within it lives all the density and majesty of Rome, all of her beauty. To wear it is to carry her with you always. To recognise something that belongs to each of us. The curves of the jewel echo the curves of the helmet. Look at her and you are retracing the Grand Tour — the magnificence of the past seen with today’s eyes.
On the transparent base the plexiglass, like rock crystal, catches the light and every colour dresses her in new shades. The black base brings out the sharpest, most decisive qualities — in its glossy finish the clarity of the proportions comes through. White is statuesque and takes us back to marble polished by centuries. Blue runs deep as lapis lazuli — the sky above the city. Green is her gardens and the tall pines of the forums. Pink is the light on travertine at dawn. Gold is her majesty at sunset. And still she surprises us — in every new guise.

The personification of the city, her cult was instituted during the Empire and she was celebrated on the 21st of April, the founding date of the city. She was usually represented as a young woman with a helmet and often with a cornucopia full of gifts. A relief of a wolf was sculpted on each side of her helmet, as well as a cherub, symbolizing the legend of the founding of the city by Romulus (on the Palatine) in 753 B.C. The legend holds that Romulus and Remus were descendents of the god Mars and Rea Silvia, daughter of Numitore, thus giving a divine origin to the city; Rome was created, because this was the will of the gods.
